Truck Mounted and Mobile Crane Safety

Leavitt Cranes' mobile crane safety course is geared towards operators of truck mounted, boom truck, and stiff boom truck crane operators. It is designed to provide mobile crane operators with a solid foundation in health and safety regulations, preventative maintenance and proper operating procedures for the safe operation of mobile cranes.

Delivered through multimedia presentations and interactive discussions, this course has three main components, classroom theory, a written test, and practical hands on experience with your truck mounted crane. Our key learning objectives are then reinforced through workbooks and supplementary handouts after the operator has completed the course.

We also offer enhanced training and orientation options for truck mounted and mobile crane safety training developed by Crane Safety Ltd. With this training, your operators will be trained by instructors that are journeyman crane operators. These instructors have more than 30 years of crane operation experience each.

Please Note: In some jurisdictions crane competency must be assessed by specific regulatory bodies. This program is a supplement, not a replacement to these competency assessments.

In BC we are able to provide training on cranes with boom lengths of less than 25 ft. and capacities under 5 tons, certification is not provided for BCACS or Fulford Harbour CraneSafe.

In Alberta we are able to provide training on cranes with capacities under 8 tons.

Mobile crane safety training is a 1 day (8 hour) course held at your facility designed around your truck mounted crane, stiff boom truck, or boom truck.

Please note: that novice operators can take advantage of an extended 1 or 2 day course format to gain additional hands on experience.

Mobile crane operators will receive a workbook and supplementary handouts upon successful completion of this course.
